The residual vibration suppression pulse Ps is output at a timing when the residual vibration suppression pulse Ps becomes a reverse phase to a superposition vibration Vab in which a meniscus vibration Va caused by droplet discharge by the first drive pulse P1 and a meniscus vibration Vb caused by droplet discharge by the second drive pulse P2 are superposed.
