The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising chitinase as an active ingredient for preventing or treating atopic dermatitis and, more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating atopic dermatitis and a cosmetic composition for preventing or alleviating atopic dermatitis, comprising chitinase 2 (Chi 2) as an active ingredient. Chitinase 2 (Chi 2) according to the present invention effectively suppresses germination and growth of a spore of an atopic dermatitis-causing bacterium, excellently inhibits vasodilatation induced from atopic dermatitis, and may be used for preparing a medicine and a functional cosmetic for preventing, alleviating, or treating atopic dermatitis. |
