PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time for liquid feed and decrease a liquid consumption in a liquid feed operation, during replacement of an ink cartridge. ! SOLUTION: An image formation device: when an ink cartridge 10 which is in an end state and cannot be reversely fed, is replaced, measures an accumulation of liquid feed quantity as accumulated liquid feed quantity fed from the substituted ink cartridge 10 to a head tank 5; and when the accumulated liquid feed quantity reaches a predetermined liquid feed quantity until air having mixed in a liquid supply path from the ink cartridge 10 moves to the head tank 5 of the liquid supply path during the replacement of the ink cartridge 10, supplies liquid and performs a liquid-feed maintenance operation for sucking ink from a nozzle of a recording head 4 with an atmosphere open valve 207 of the head tank 5 closed. !
