PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a setting method of an ink jet printer 3 capable of changing a setting of the ink jet printer 3 even when ink is not filled.SOLUTION: A print system 1 comprises a computer 2 and an ink jet printer 3 connected thereto via a communication interface 15. In the computer 2, a printer setting software 12 is operated. The printer setting software 12 transmits an inquiry command (a D4 command) for inquiring the filling of ink via a first logical channel provided in the communication interface 15. When the filling of ink is not confirmed, a first setting command (a D4 command) for setting the ink jet printer 3 is transmitted via the first logical channel. On the other hand, when the filling of ink is confirmed, a second setting command (a remote command) is transmitted via a second logical channel 22 used for transmission of print data. |
