PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an electrode material capable of functioning in a neutral pH range; an electrode composed of such the electrode material; and a battery equipped with such the electrode.SOLUTION: An electrode is composed of a porous carbon material derived from plant, having an oxygen reduction catalyst function. An electrode material is composed of the porous carbon material derived from plant, having the oxygen reduction catalyst function. A battery is equipped with a positive electrode composed of the porous carbon material having the oxygen reduction catalyst function.
