PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of improving quality of images.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 11 includes: a light source device 15 that includes three laser diodes LD1 to LD3 emitting laser beams modulated according to image information; a lens array 40 that includes a plurality of microlenses 40a arranged on a light path of the laser beams from the light source device 15; scanning means 30 that is arranged on the light path of the laser beams between the light source device 15 and the lens array 40, and scans the lens array 40 with the laser beams in a main scanning direction and a sub scanning direction; and a deflection element 20 that is arranged on the light path of the laser beams between the light source device 15 and the scanning means 30, and can deflect the laser beams in a plane orthogonal to the main scanning direction, and forms images on the lens array 40.
