The control device (10) has electrical connector (14) that connects the control device to external direct current (DC) voltage source (12) for operating the device. The connector has positive and negative cables (20,22) that are connected to one another via branch line (28). The positive cable is connected respectively with the negative cable via diode (D) and capacitor (C) in blocking direction. Current flows from negative cable to positive cable while applying charged electric reverse polarity voltage to the voltage source.
