at least a first movable transport unit configured and operable for transporting at least one individual item in a main transport direction, the first transport unit having a chassis configured and operable for movement in the main transport direction; a transfer unit configured and operable for moving the individual item during a transfer operation in a transfer direction, which differs from the main transport direction; a drive unit fixed to the first transport unit and configured and operable for driving the individual item in the transfer direction; and a coupling facility, configured and operable for coupling the chassis to the drive unit at least for a period of time.
