To this end, provided are an apparatus and a method for processing a fingerprint image to estimate the information on the noise from the images which are recognized during a first period before the contact of the fingerprint is started, and to obtain the fingerprint image by correcting at least one image recognized during the predetermined time with the estimated information after the contact of the fingerprint is completed.
