PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly efficient photoelectric converter element that uses augmented electrical field to increase carrier excitation.SOLUTION: The disclosed photoelectric converter element comprises: a photoelectric converter layer formed of two or more semiconductor layers that are stacked between two electrode layers; an electrical field augmentation layer sandwiched between the semiconductor layers in the photoelectric converter layer. The electrical field augmentation layer comprises a metallic fine structure body, where the metallic fine structure body is a porous thin film or microscopic bodies such as microspheres.
