The device has a signal generator (14) for generating an electrical drive signal to drive a fan motor such that the fan motor is rotated at predetermined speed on the drive signal and cools the drive motor of a motor car. Electrical connections (10, 12) receive electric power from an external electric power source for supplying electric power to a motor fan. Electric motor fan connectors (6, 7) connect the device to the motor fan. The drive signal is transmitted to the motor fan. The motor fan is arranged on a terminal of the electric power source for operating the motor fan. An independent claim is also included for a method for driving a motor of a motor car.
