PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maximize a power saving effect without sacrificing isochronism of data transmission.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes: an image processing unit including a first ASIC that receives input of scanner data input from a scanner via a PCIe and processes the scanner data; and a control unit that is connected with the image processing unit via a second PCIe, receives input of the scanner data processed by the first ASIC via the second PCIe and processes the scanner data, and outputs the processed scanner data to a plotter as print data. The control unit includes an ASPM use propriety determination unit that controls propriety of the use of ASPM related to power saving of the PCIes, and during the execution of transmission of printer data via the second PCIe, allows the use of the ASPM only when the entire non-data transmission period is either one of a time when an energy saving period is present or a time shorter than a transition preparation period. |
