PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a graphite film formed by calcining a polymer with only a slight sag and being long in length, and a method for producing the graphite film.SOLUTION: A correction treatment step to heat-treat a raw material graphite film at up to a temperature of 2,000°C or higher while applying pressure thereto is performed in a state in which the raw material graphite film is wound on an inner core with accuracy of the diameter of less than 0.0426%. The raw material graphite film to be used in the correction treatment step is a raw material graphite film obtained by heat-treating a polymer film at 2,000°C or higher and at least once cooled to a temperature condition of 2,000°C or lower. Accuracy of the diameter of the inner core is preferably less than 0.0027%. A flat graphite film with a very slight sag can be obtained by correcting the raw material graphite film by using the inner core with good accuracy of the diameter. |
