The floor has a metallic auxiliary longitudinal member (2) extending in a middle of the floor in a longitudinal direction of a motor vehicle, where the floor is made of plastic material or composite material. The member is provided with a U-shaped transversal section. Ends of two U-shaped side wings (2a, 2b) formed by the member, are connected to the floor. A rear part of the member is reinforced by a metal insert (4) of U-shaped cross section. The insert is engaged and fixed inside or outside of the U-shape section. The rear part and the insert are provided with notches (6).
