<p>Machine (1) comprises e.g.: an upper tool (9) with an upper pressure-piece (12), where the upper pressure-piece has an outlet opening (13) for a laser beam produced by a beam source and a lower tool with a lower pressure-piece, and a power supply to the laser source; a galvanic separation between the pressure pieces of the electrically conductive material; at least one first electrical switching circuit comprising a mechanically actuated switch arranged on the upper pressure-piece such that it closes when the upper pressure-piece contacts the work piece or one of the workpieces. Machine (1) for material processing an electrically conductive workpiece or multiple electrically conductive workpieces (2,3) contacting themselves, comprises: (a) an upper tool (9) with an upper pressure-piece (12), where the upper pressure-piece has an outlet opening (13) for a laser beam produced by a beam source and a lower tool with a lower pressure-piece, which is movable relative to the upper tool, and a power supply to the laser source; (b) a galvanic separation between the pressure pieces of the electrically conductive material; (c) at least one first electrical switching circuit comprising a mechanically actuated switch arranged on the upper pressure-piece such that it closes when the upper pressure-piece contacts the work piece or one of the workpieces; (d) at least one second electrical switching circuit comprising the upper and lower pressure piece, where the second electrical switching circuit is closed, when the upper and lower pressure piece of the workpiece or the workpieces are in contact with each other; (e) an evaluation circuit for evaluating the electrical signals of at least one first electrical switching circuit and the second electrical switching circuit, which allows an activation of the power supply for the laser source, only when the evaluation of the electrical signals indicates that all the switching circuits are closed. An independent claim is also included for material processing the electrically conductive workpiece or multiple electrically conductive workpieces contacting themselves, comprising positioning the upper tool relative to the workpiece or one of the workpieces, positioning the lower tool relative to the workpiece or one of the workpieces, evaluating the electrical signals of at least one first electrical circuit comprising a mechanically actuated switch, evaluating the electrical signals of the second electric circuit comprising the upper and the lower pressure pieces, and activating the power supply for the beam source, when the evaluation of the electrical signals indicates all the switching circuits are closed, where the pressure pieces are made of electrically conductive material, which are galvanically separated from each other.</p> |
