PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a deterioration in the shelf life of a developer and improve the printing quality. SOLUTION: An oil phase component obtained by dissolving or dispersing a binder resin and a colorant in an organic solvent, is dispersed and granulated in an aqueous medium with a dispersed inorganic dispersant to obtain a developer, in which the binder resin is a polyester resin of which acid value is 0.3 mgKOH/g or more and 1.4 mgKOH/g or less.
