<p>The traction chain (1) has a variable cubic capacity hydraulic engine arranged with pressure accumulators (26) and attached to driving wheels (20) of a hydraulic hybrid vehicle. A thermal engine (2) directly drives an element of a hydraulic pump (4). Bodies or an output shaft (6) of the pump are connected with the driving wheels. The pump is connected with the pressure accumulators and provided with a blocking unit for blocking the output shaft with respect to the bodies of the pump. The blocking unit includes a clutch (8) connecting the output shaft to the bodies of the pump.</p>
