The invention provides a monitoring device for an escalator, the monitory device is advantageous in that, a monitoring camera will not bring distrust of peeping from the lower part to a passenger, the monitoring camera can be disposed at a position not hindering the passenger, and can easily inhibit expose of wires connected with eh monitoring camera. At a narrow corner part formed between a ceiling of a building and a movable armrest of an escalator, or a narrow corner part formed between the bottom of one of two adjacent escalators in a crossed state and the movable armrest of the other escalator, a fixed protective body for preventing clamping, a movable warning body, and a cylinder body are disposed, a monitoring camera and a first wire part contained in a wire part connected with the monitoring camera is accommodated in the cylinder, electric cables of the first wire part is in an extending arrangement via cutting silts disposed in an upper-lower direction, and the wire part comprising the first wire part is disposed between the cylinder body and an outer cover plate. |
