PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable power optical system which properly prevents aberration fluctuation during variable magnification, and an optical device, and a method of manufacturing the variable power optical system.SOLUTION: A variable power optical system ZL to be used for an optical device, such as a camera 1, includes from an object side: a first lens group G1 having positive refractive power; a second lens group G2 having negative refractive power; a third lens group G3 having positive refractive power; a fourth lens group G4 having negative refractive power; and a fifth lens group G5 having positive refractive power. During variable magnification, the second lens group G2 and the fourth lens group G4 are fixed to an image surface. |
