A system (12) for receiving and ejecting a fluid testing device test strip (18) includes a strip connector having first and second guide rails (38, 40), and divider walls (72, 73) each having a channel. A sled (34)has first and second legs (80, 82) connected to a cross member (84). Each leg has a contact leg (94, 96) extending inwardly from a chamfered end. The first and second legs when positioned parallel to the guide rails have the contact leg captured in the divider wall channels (76) retaining the sled (34) in sliding contact with the guide rails (38, 40) for motions in loading and ejection directions (A, B). A mechanism assembly (26) is movably connected to the fluid testing device. The cross member (84) is coupled so operation in a first direction displaces the sled in the loading direction positioning the sled (34) in a test strip test position, and opposite operation positions the contact legs (94, 96) in direct contact with and ejects the test strip (18). |
