PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which, when a situation varies at a light source or a light reception section of a biometric authentication device, such as reduction in luminance and contamination, biometric authentication cannot be properly performed, namely, correct authentication cannot be made if a condition when a so-called template to be registered is input is apart from a condition when an input upon authentication is performed.SOLUTION: According the present invention, using preliminarily registered templates indicative of a plurality of situations of a light source (or, a plurality of input situations) in a state where a living body used in authentication such as a finger is not placed, a situation such as the light source is monitored. That is, according to the present invention, an authentication template serving as a template when the living body used in authentication such as a finger is placed, and a light source template serving as a template when the living body used in authentication such as a finger is not placed are registered beforehand, and in accordance with a condition such as an environment of an authentication device, the authentication device determines that either the light source template or the authentication template is used as a template to be compared with input information. |
