PURPOSE: A device for detecting the tearing of a belt conveyor is provided to prevent equipment accidents caused by damage to a belt conveyor and to minimize the recovery time of the belt conveyor. CONSTITUTION: A device for detecting the tearing of a belt conveyor comprises a belt conveyor (100), a hanging unit (200), and a tearing detection unit (300). The belt conveyor is supported by multiple carrier rollers (110) and returns rollers and conveys articles. When the belt conveyor is torn away, the torn portion of the belt conveyor is hung on the hanging unit. When tension, which is more than a fixed standard, is applied to the hanging unit, the tearing detection unit detects the tearing of the belt conveyor to automatically stop the operation of the belt conveyor. |
