PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress cross-talk.SOLUTION: Firstly, a thickness of a liquid crystal cell 3331 is determined. Next, an angle between the respective lagging phase axes of a wavelength plate 3332 and the liquid crystal cell 3331 is determined. Then, a ratio of intensity of light output from an optical device and transmitted through glass 3341 to the intensity of light output from the optical device and transmitted through glass 3342 is calculated for each thickness of the wavelength plate 3332 on the basis of the determined thickness of the liquid crystal cell 3331 and the angle between the respective lagging phase axes of the wavelength plate 3332 and the liquid crystal cell 3331 and the retardation of the respective wavelength plates. Then, the thickness of the wavelength plate 3332 is determined on the basis of the calculated ratio of each thickness of the wavelength plate 3332. |
