<p>This system is provided with: a viable particle counting means (77) for illuminating with light of prescribed wavelength a fluid containing particles targeted for detection, selectively separating autofluorescence and phosphorescence emitted by the target particles in response to the illuminating light, receiving the separated autofluorescence and phosphorescence, and determining on the basis of the received autofluorescence and phosphorescence whether the target particles are viable particles, in order to count the viable particles present in the fluid; and an illuminating means (700) for illuminating the fluid with ultraviolet light in advance, prior to illumination with light of prescribed wavelength by the viable particle counting means (77).</p> |
