PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a line width of a thinned line.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a contour detection unit 101 which analyzes image data and decides a contour pixel of a character or a figure and an edge direction of the contour pixel; a line thinning unit 102 which reduces the pixel value of the contour pixel according to the edge direction of the contour pixel to thin the character or the figure; and an intensity adjustment part 103 which adjusts the pixel value of the contour pixel obtained after line thinning according to an image forming condition, so that a line width of the thinned line achieves an expected value. |
