<p>The method involves creating a route between a starting point and a destination based on a digital map, where predetermined waypoints are taken into account during routing process. The waypoints are selected by a vehicle user based on the predetermined waypoints. The waypoints are introduced into the route to be created by a navigation system (3). The waypoints are stored non-volatile in the navigation system during configuration process. Alternative route guides are created by the navigation system. An independent claim is also included for a motor car.</p>
