<p>The invention relates to a device for controlling the electric power consumption of electrodeless discharge lamps, characterised in that it forms an independent module interconnected between the electronic ballast and the lamp and comprises a controller, multiple switches and an adjustable autotransformer or transformer. The components can be described as follows: a) a control unit which is a programmable microcontroller configured to co-ordinate the following components, namely a voltage sensor, a current sensor, a stabilised power source and an interface with peripherals; b) multiple switches which define the impedance seen by the electronic ballast depending on the selected terminal of the transformer; c) a transformer or autotransformer having a variable transformation ratio; d) one or more potential-free contact closure controls; e) a selector for selecting the operating mode of the device, by means of head-end control, contact closure control or controlled by a wired communication bus or by remote control. The device is used to control the luminous flux of an electrodeless discharge lamp in a public or private lighting installation and its electric power consumption.</p> |
