PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a pixel region which can be displayed in a display device.SOLUTION: A projection device includes: a projection section having a display element in which pixel lines in a first direction are arrayed in a second direction, and an optical system which projects light from the display element; a first correction section for correcting a scale of each piece of line data in image data corresponding to each pixel line in accordance with the position in the second direction of each pixel line in the display element and a component in the second direction of the inclination in the projection direction of the projection section with respect to a normal line of a projection surface; a second correction section for correcting a scale in the second direction of each piece of pixel data in the image data after correction by the first correction section in accordance with the position in the second direction of each pixel in the display element and the component in the second direction of the inclination in the projection direction; and an image cut-out section for cutting out image data in the region projected from the projection section among the image data after correction by the second correction section and inputting the image data to the projection section.
