<p>This vehicle control device is provided with a control unit configured so as to utilize an answer-back function in response to an answer-back request signal. The control unit (24) is provided with a substrate (26) on which a sensor (25), which detects unauthorized operation of a vehicle, can be mounted or not mounted, and a central processing unit (CPU) (27) that is mounted on the substrate (26) and is capable of determining whether the sensor (25) is mounted or not mounted on the substrate (26). The CPU (27) runs a program that executes an answer-back process and a security alarm process when the sensor (25) is mounted on the substrate (26), and runs a program that executes the answer-back process exclusive of the security alarm process when the sensor (25) is not mounted on the substrate (26). The control unit is thus able to switch between a state in which the answer-back function and a security alarm function are both applied, and a state in which the answer-back function alone is applied, while suppressing an increase in the number of components and an increase in cost.</p> |
