PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that in a conventional ink jet printer including air suction means for taking in outside air, a heated recording medium is rapidly cooled by an air flow, and uneven cooling of the heated recording medium arises, which become a factor for worsening image quality, and that it is difficult to efficiently cool the inside of a carriage.SOLUTION: There is provided an ink jet printer which includes both of a constitution in which the outside air taken into a device can be sucked to the inside of a carriage directly and a constitution in which the outside air sucked does not flow the carriage inside, so that the ink jet printer can effectively lower the temperature inside the carriage. The ink jet printer further includes on both sides of a housing, exhausting mechanisms for exhausting air, the one of the air exhausting mechanisms provided on the side surface of the housing and the other provided on the rear surface, so that exhausting unevenness between the right and the left of the housing can be suppressed. |
