<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small size contact device capable of efficiently preventing arc from being generated across the contacts.SOLUTION: A contact device A includes: a pair of fixed terminals 1, 1 each having a fixed contact 11; a moving contact 2 having a pair of movable contacts 21, 21 which detachably come in contact with the respective fixed contacts 11, 11; a pair of permanent magnets 7, 7 which generates a magnetic field in a direction perpendicular to a moving direction of the moving contact 2; and an insulation member 5 attached to the respective fixed terminals 1 and an insulation member 6 attached to the moving contact 2. The insulation member 5 has an induction part 52 for inducing arc generated across the contacts 11 and 21 with a part of the fixed terminals 1 exposed at the end in a direction where a Lorentz force acts due to a magnetic field generated by the pair of permanent magnets 7, 7. The insulation member 6 also has an induction part 62 for inducing arc generated across the contacts 11 and 21 with a part of the moving contact 2 exposed at the end in a direction where the Lorentz force acts.</p> |
