Abstract Provided are a computer-implemented method and system in the form of an integrated application programming interface (API) for booking payments entered in an accounting software application, comprising: providing a user interface for displaying one or more payment invoices in one or more currencies from one or more suppliers, the invoices having been previously entered in an accounting software application; receiving a user's selection of invoices to be paid from the one or more invoices in the user interface; determining the total value of all invoices to be paid; allowing the user to select a currency exchange rate provided from an online service to transfer the monies due from a bank account of the user to a beneficiary account of each of the one or more suppliers and allowing the user to approve payments; receiving a user's selection of currency exchange rate and payment approval; executing the funds transfer to each of the beneficiary accounts; allowing the user to automatically post the funds transfer to the accounting software application once confirmation of the funds transfer is received; and automatically posting an exchange gain or loss in the accounting software application based on the funds transfer.
