PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion system that can improve comprehensive efficiency of power converters in a simple circuit configuration without a complicated circuit configuration with many special components. SOLUTION: A power conversion system includes: a supply side power supply apparatus 20 for producing power from an apparatus capable of generating or storing electrical energy; and a receiving side power supply apparatus 30 for receiving the power and reconverting it into power required by a load 60. The supply side power supply apparatus 20 steps up or down an input voltage by high frequency switching to output a DC constant voltage within±20% of a peak value of a commercial power supply voltage. The receiving side power supply apparatus 30 has a circuit for outputting the DC constant voltage to both ends of an input smoothing capacitor 44 via a backflow prevention diode 46.
