Class 46 [Also in Group XXIX] A cock for a filter press element comprises a tapered spigot 14 driven into a complementary bore in the press frame 10 and having passages 16, 17, and a conical plug 15 with a groove 18 and a bore 19. With the plug positioned as shown filtrate flows from the press through the passage 16, groove 18, passage 17 and a bore 13 to a discharge passage 11 in the press frame. By connecting the bore 19 to the passage 17 a sample of filtrate may be taken, and by disconnecting both groove and bore from the passages the flow of filtrate is stopped.</p> |
