An apparatus for hiding data includes a receiving unit which receives an original image, a hiding key, and data; a group forming unit which divides the original image into one or more blocks, and forms target pixels, which are positioned on a predefined grid among pixels included in the blocks, into first and second groups according to the hiding key; an adjacent pixel sum calculating unit which calculates a sum of adjacent pixels corresponding to target pixels included in one of the first and second groups according to the data; and a converting unit which creates a converted image by adding a predefined value to the value of the target pixel or subtracting the predefined value therefrom, according to whether the sum of the adjacent pixels is less than or equal to a predefined threshold. |
