The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, a computer-readable recording medium, and an image forming device. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the image processing apparatus includes: a dividing unit which divides a text part in a screen shot which includes graphics and text; a color evaluating unit which respectively estimates a text color and a background color except the text in the divided text part; a vectorizing unit which vectorizes the outline of the text in the divided text part; a text retouching unit which modifies a screen shot by filling the divided text part with the estimated background color; and a meta file generating unit which generates a meta file using the estimated text color, vector information of the vectorized outline, and the modified screen shot.
