Coating slip comprises water, pigment, and modified starch having a weight-average molecular weight of 250000-2000000 Da and a solubility, measured according to a test A, of 50-85%. Independent claims are included for: (1) preparing the coating slip, comprising mixing the water, the pigment, the modified starch and the additional polymer at a temperature of 5-10[deg] C, preferably 15-40[deg] C, and recovering the coating slip; (2) a coated paper having 1-5 (preferably 2-3) coatings; and (3) printing the coated paper by an offset printing (preferred), a photogravure printing, a rotogravure printing, a lithograve printing and a flexography or inkjet printing. |
