The piece (20) has a safety switch (42) to allow distribution of electrical power only when the connecting piece carrying an electromagnetic shielding sheath (18) is connected to an electrical component (10) e.g. battery, where the connecting piece is connected directly to the electrical component once an electric wire (12) is connected to the electrical component. The safety switch includes two electrical wires connected to a control system of the electrical component, where the wires are intended to come into contact with a metal connecting portion on the electrical component. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an assembly of an electromagnetic shielding sheath and a connecting piece (2) a method for connecting an electric wire to an electrical component and shielding the wire by using a connecting piece.
