The receiver has a photodiode (1) for receiving a modulated light signal, and a clock generator (2) for controlling a light transmitter (3) and a mixer (4a). A phase shifter (6) is provided for controlling another mixer (4b) with a timing signal phase shifted around 90 degree. Terminal of the photodiode is connected with one of the two mixers, and voltage transducers (5a, 5b) are connected to outputs of the mixers for differential current measurement. The mixers have a storage capacitor (Cs) for photocurrent arranged in a bridge circuit of an FET.
