PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical detector having a structure allowing an entire device to be downsized and an optical detection method.SOLUTION: An optical detector includes a transmission type diffraction element 400, a light shielding container for holding the transmission type diffraction element in an internal space, and a photo-detector 610 having a photo detection element. The light shielding container includes a positioning structure that fixes the posture of the transmission type diffraction element. The optical detector holds first to third optical systems that are arranged on first to third light guide routes, respectively, that are specified for a light incident surface and a light emission surface of the transmission type diffraction element in the internal space. |
