PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling apparatus with high maintainability which includes cooling members located in a normal position when in operation, to exhibit stable cooling performance, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A recording material cooling apparatus includes cooling members for cooling a recording material to be conveyed by a traveling belt of belt conveyance means. The cooling members include heat absorbing surfaces which come into contact with the belt or the recording material to absorb heat of the recording material. The cooling members are arranged on a top surface side and a rear surface side of the recording material. At least one of the cooling members arranged on the top surface or rear surface of the recording material can be moved closer to or away from the other cooling member. Positioning means for relative positioning is arranged. |
