A linear member for medical use that stretches and is flexible, whilst maintaining sufficient strength. An internal helix body has a plurality of wires wound in a helix so as to have space sections on the inner sides of the wires and leaving gap sections in the axial direction between each of the wires. An external helix body is arranged, as a multi-layered structure, on the outside of the internal helix body, the external helix body forming a layer of a plurality of wires with respect to the axial line of the internal helix body and having the plurality of wires wound in a helix, such that the winding direction is the opposite direction to that of the internal helix body, and leaving gap sections between the wires. Thus, it is possible to configure a linear member for medical use that is strong enough to have sufficient binding force and that stretches and is flexible and thus does not cause damage to bones. |
