An energy management system includes a prediction unit, a calculation unit, a preparation unit, and a control unit according to an embodiment. The prediction unit acquires a value predicting the energy demand of a customer to predict the power generation volume of a first power generation unit that generates the power derived from renewable energy, and thereby acquires a value predicting the power generation volume. The calculation unit calculates the operation schedule for a second power generation unit that generates the power derived from non-renewable energy on the basis of the predicted value of the demand and the predicted value of the power generation volume. The preparation unit prepares a discharge strategy that maximizes a subtraction amount calculated by subtracting a deficit of purchasing power from a profit of selling power by using a push-up effect on amount of power sold in accordance with the discharge from an electricity storage device on the basis of the predicted demand value, the predicted power generation volume and the operation schedule. The control unit controls the discharge from the electricity storage device on the basis of the actual value of the demand, the actual value of the power generation volume, the operation schedule, and the discharge strategy.
