According to the present invention, a liquid crystal display device includes a displaying area and a non-displaying area, which is the rest area except the displaying area. The liquid crystal display device includes a first base substrate; a pixel electrode provided in the displaying area on the first base substrate; a second base substrate; a common electrode provided on the second base substrate; a liquid crystal layer provided between the first base substrate and the second base substrate; and an electric field control line provided in the non-displaying area on the first base substrate. The electric field control line and the pixel electrode are provided on the same surface.
