PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a successive approximation AD converter that implements high accuracy AD conversion at high speed.SOLUTION: The successive approximation AD converter configured to sequentially convert upper conversion data more than an approximate value and lower conversion data less than the approximate value to analog conversion voltages, respectively, sample and hold differential voltages between an input voltage and the conversion voltages, respectively, output first and second comparison results of magnitude comparison of the input voltage with the conversion voltages corresponding to the upper conversion data and lower conversion data, respectively, on the basis of the differential voltages, change the approximate value in accordance with the first and second comparison results and change the next upper conversion data and lower conversion data on the basis of the changed approximate value, and supply the changed next upper conversion data and lower conversion data to the DA conversion section and repeat the sampling and holding, comparison and changing to produce an output, determines the order of outputting the next upper and lower conversion data in accordance with the first and second comparison results and the order of outputting the preceding upper and lower conversion data. |
