The invention relates to an extracorporeal blood treatment device for the operation having one single patient connection, which is connected to an arterial and a venous blood duct of an extracorporeal blood circuit. The invention further relates to a method for operating a blood treatment device having one single patient connection. The blood treatment device according to the invention has two units (6, 7) for conveying blood in the arterial and venous blood duct (8, 9). The second unit (8) for conveying blood comprises means (11) for collecting blood and means (20) for building a pressure in the means for collecting blood, such that in the means for collecting blood collected blood flows to the patient connection. Furthermore, the blood treatment device has an arterial and venous shut-off device (12A, 12B) for interrupting the fluid flow in the arterial or venous blood duct (8, 9) as well as a control unit (27) for actuating the two units (6, 7) for conveying blood and the arterial and venous shut-off device (12A, 12B). The blood treatment device according to the invention and the method according to the invention are characterized in that the first unit (6) for conveying blood is operated both during the arterial and the venous phase, such that blood flows continuously through the blood treatment unit (2). |
