PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarization spectrometer which extracts a monochromatic linearly polarized light, with a high stray light removal rate. SOLUTION: This polarizing spectrometer 10 is provided with a first prism 12 which outputs light in a direction according to wavelength and a polarization direction, and a second prism 16 which receives light, transmitted through the first prism 12 and outputs light in a direction according to the wavelength and a polarization direction. The first prism 12 and the second prism are uniaxial crystal prisms. Both the optical axis of the first prism 12 and the optical axis of the second prism 16 cross at right angles with their optical paths in the individual prisms, and the optical axis of the second prism 16 is directed to the polarization direction of a linearly polarized light component that is polarized orthogonal to the optical axis of the first prism 12, out of rays of output light from the first prism 12.
