The method involves generating a magnetic alternating field for a switching circuit (20) with an antenna (22) and an electronic portion (24). The switching circuit is suggested by an energy pulse. An oscillation of the switching circuit is detected by an external measuring coil (140) in response on an excitation by the energy pulse. The detected oscillation of the switching circuit is evaluated. The generation of the magnetic alternating field is temporary interrupted during suggesting of the switching circuit. An independent claim is also included for a measuring device for checking a witching circuit for contact-less data communication.
