The invention relates to an omega-3 food supplement based on marine oil (fish, fish coproducts, mollusks, krill, algae, microalgae) for controlling hypercholesterolemiae and lipoprotein disturbances. The invention also relates to the optimisation of the preventive lipid score of at least one omega-3 food supplement by adding a vegetable oil or marine oil having a low or high preventive lipid score. Said measure allows the production of a product that has the correct balance of fatty acids and will have a better effect on cardiovascular diseases, this type of diseases being the cause of the highest human mortality of industrialised countries, amounting to approximately 180,000 deaths per year in France, which is 32% of total deaths. This product may be prescribed within the scope of a diet for the prevention and/or cure of atheroscleroses leading to cardiovascular diseases. |
