The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition containing a laver extract as an active ingredient for skin whitening or anti-wrinkle effect. The laver extract according to the present invention is very effective in suppressing the activation of tyrosinase and melanin synthesis, synthesizing collagen, and suppressing the activation of MMP and has no cytotoxicity in keratinocyte (HaCaT), human fibroblast (1064 SK), and melanoma cell (B16F). Also, the laver extract is non-stimulative, has a weak sensitizing ability (grade I), and does not induce phototoxicity and photosensitization. Thus, the laver extract according to the present invention can be useful for a cosmetic composition for skin whitening or anti-wrinkle effect. |
